I’m probably in a minority who actually thinks Canelo will win this fairly comfortably. I think Trout is getting a lot of credit for his win over Cotto, but to be honest Cotto looked done after a few rounds, nowhere near the fighter he once was.

Canelo is faster, full of variety and I see him being too much for Trout in the later rounds. Trout may be able to survive if he gets into trouble with boxing and moving. But I think pricewise there is more value in a late stoppage.

The build up has been hilarious and entertaining. Now it’s time to fight! As much as I respect Cunningham this is the first time he’s been in the ring with a big heavyweight like Tyson Fury, having spent most his career as a Cruiserweight.

Cunningham is a tough s.o.b with a good chin, I think he can see out the early rounds as Tyson isn’t a fast starter either. But as the fight wears on I can see the referee or Steves corner intervening and stopping the fight around the 8th.

Tyson maybe big, but he isn’t slow and he isn’t lazy. These are two things Cunningham would have needed for victory against such a giant. I think we’ll see Fury jab him at will in this fight.

The prices on offer are pretty skinny so we need the rounds to swing in our favour

This could be a decent fight, two guys with active styles, Cleverly with the superior skills but Krasniqi with the slight power advantage. I just don’t think Robin Krasniqi is on Nathan Cleverlys level though and he will get caught too easily in the grand scale of things.

I can’t see Cleverly being the first man to ever stop Krasniqi either but I can see this being a bit of a war and Cleverly taking a decision. We could even see a knockdown or two when things heat up…shame there are no knockdown markets.

Advised Bets:

McConnell isn’t as bad as the bookies see him but Selby is definitely an improved fighter. I think if McConnell had more experience and any power it could be a closer fight. But I just can’t see him being able to trade with Selby for too long, I think McConnell has talent but this is a step too far too soon.

I expect Selby to make an impression tonight with his new promoter and if he doesn’t score an early KO it will be a comfortable decision.

This is obviously just a tune up return fight for Delboy. He has weighed in quite heavy but even so he should be able to get the knock out here fairly early…if he doesn’t then it would be a concern for his career.

This is a confidence building exercise I think after Chisoras disappointing defeats to Haye and Klitschko plus his suspension from boxing.

Expect an early KO. No value in the straight KO or Group Rounds so will have a small play on individual rounds.

This should be a good fight. Undefeated prospect Liam Walsh takes on former World Champ Scott Harrison.

Harrison is 35 now and has only fought twice since his return to boxing, he’s looked rusty but there is still some signs of the old class there.

I think it will be difficult for Harrison to get this on points with Walsh’s work rate and variety of shots. But Walsh can get caught moving in and is open to left hooks. Harrison has a big left hook and I’m willing to take a chance on him catching the youngster with one for a stoppage.

The longer the fight goes on, the harder it will be for Harrison. He needs to stop this early.

Two top fighters going at it here tonight; a treat for genuine boxing fans.

As much as I respect Rigondeauxs’ technical ability and think he will win a round or two in this fight, I just can’t see him over-coming the size and power difference Donaire brings. Rigondeaux has been caught by left hooks in his career before and weathered the storm, but he hasn’t faced power like Donaires’. As soon as that looping left catches Rigondeaux it could be curtains for the Cuban.

I fancy a Donaire KO and most likely in the first half of the fight. Maybe around the 3rd/4th.

Veteran Mia St John goes over to Denmark to face unbeaten welterweight champion Cecilia Braekhus. Although I don’t think Braekhus is a sublime talent or anything, I do think she will outwork the technical Mia St John.

Mia is 46 now and her work has slowed down. But she stays cautious and tries to pick her shots. I can see her frustrating Braekhus, but the champ will likely pick up most the rounds on work rate alone. Neither has real knockout power so I’m surprised the bookies think a KO is so sure. I see a decision victory to the champ.

I think this will be an early stoppage for Rabchenko. Nicchi is too easy to hit and this is a big step up for him. I’d be surprised if it goes past 3 rounds with the power of Rabchenko.
